Charitable Remainder Trust

(also known as a "unitrust")

A Charitable Remainder Trust allows you to make a gift to your Kendal Community while retaining the benefit from your assets. Cash securities or other property are irrevocably placed in a trust that provides an income to you and/or those you designate for a period of time. The trust pays it beneficiaries a fixed amount, determined as a percentage of the initial value of the asset the donor used to fund the trust.

Payments can be made for the benficiaries lifetime, or for a term. When the trust ends, the trust assets pass to your Community

Charitable Lead Trust

A Charitable Lead Trust is essentially the reverse of the charitable remainder trust and is established for a term of years, or for the life of the beneficiary. The Kendal Community receives the income annually from the trust. At the end of the term, the remaining principal reverts to the donor or the donors designee
